Alzheimer’s disease is a very common neurological disease that occurs due to the destruction of brain cells. Recently, Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS) has started to be used for Alzheimer’s disease.
Transcranial Pulse Stimulation is a modern neurostimulation procedure. In this process, it is the process of stimulating a certain area of the brain with ultrasonic sound waves. This procedure, which is performed in 6 sessions over a 2-week period, takes 30 minutes.

Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS), a neuromodulation therapy, causes nerve activity to change by transmitting electrical and sound stimulation to the targeted brain area. This process is a 30-minute process consisting of 6 sessions over a 2-week period. It is a non-invasive procedure.
- TO DIAGNOSE ALZHEIMER’S
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans are performed in individuals who are suspected of having Alzheimer’s disease. Once Alzheimer’s is diagnosed and its stage is determined, the treatment process begins. Today, Transcranial Pulse Stimulation, a non-invasive neuromodulation treatment, is preferred. This treatment is applied at the initial level or in slightly advanced cases.
- TRANSCRANIAL PULSE STIMULATION (TPS) TECHNIQUE
Transcranial Pulse Stimulation is a non-invasive process of delivering shock waves to the affected area of the brain. Affected and shrunken parts of the brain are detected by magnetic resonance imaging. This process is personalized according to the individual and the area of the brain affected. The patient is in a sitting position. It is performed by frequently transmitting ultrasound (shock) waves by applying ultrasound gel to the scalp with the neuronavigation system (ultrasound system). These shock waves reach a depth of 8 cm thanks to the ultrasound gel. With the camera system in the device, the brain and the area affected by the rays are monitored during the procedure.
In this procedure, patients do not feel any heat and there is no need for preparation before the procedure.
It is a treatment that can be adjusted according to the individual. This procedure, which is performed in 6 sessions over a period of 2 weeks, takes between 30 and 45 minutes.
