Genital Wart Treatment in Turkey
What is a Genital Wart?
Genital warts are generally caused by sexually transmitted viruses called Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Genital warts generally have the same color as the flesh and are seen as little bumps on the genital area. The most common symptoms are;
- small swellings and bumps in the genital area
- cluster forming that consists of several warts coming together
- itching
- bleeding while having a sexual intercourse
What Causes Genital Warts?
Genital warts are caused by Papillomavirus, which is a sexually transmitted virus. Having unprotected sexual intercourse, suffering from another STD, having a weak immune system due to a disease or any other condition may cause genital warts.
Risks Involved with Genital Warts
There are two main risks that genital warts involve:
- Cancer: Genital warts and HPV infection are generally linked to cervical cancer. Certain types of the virus can also cause cancer in the surrounding areas like the vulva and anus. It does not certainly mean that anyone that has HPV will suffer from cancer though.
- Pregnancy issues: During pregnancy, warts can enlarge, causing problems with urinating and childbirth.
Genital Wart Treatment in Turkey
Genital wart treatment in Turkey is done with a few different methods.
- Warts can be frozen with cryotherapy. This procedure does not necessitate the administration of an anesthetic. The procedure is done by spraying nitrogen on warts and takes less than an hour.
- Warts can be burnt with electric current. This procedure requires the administration of an anesthetic as it can be minimally painful.
- If the options above are not applicable to the patient, then warts can be removed surgically. The main aim of this alternative is to completely remove the tissue that the warts are on.
All these treatments can eliminate warts, but they will not address the HPV. The patient might be a carrier for a few years more.
