Calf Augmentation- Surgical Phase |

In calf augmentation an incision is made below the crease behind the knee, and solid, silicone implants are inserted in pockets overlying the gastrocnemius muscles, then closed with sutures (stitches).
Spinal / Epidural or General anaesthesia will be administered.

Sometimes bruises may occur at the surgical site.
A faint scar at the incision line
Temporary swelling will occur due to edema formation
You may feel uncomfortable while walking within the first postoperative week
Small incisions of 4-5 cm if calf implants are used and an incision of 2-3 mm if fat grafts are used
Stitches are involved in this operation. They will be removed at the 7th or 10th day.
Elastic bandages are used for the first couple of weeks
Numbness at the leg part may occur
