| 1. Preparation Guidelines For The Operation Before Arrival | It is crucial that you submit us the medical history form which should include (if any) prior procedures, medications, allergies, and your motivations for seeking plastic surgery. It is very important that you be thorough when providing your medical history, as this information helps to prevent complications during your care. Be sure to include any vitamin or herbal preparations, as these can affect your blood pressure and clotting ability.
Aspirin and aspirin containing products, as well as some supplements and "nutraceuticals" may inhibit blood clotting and cause difficulties during and after surgery. If you need an aspirin-free fever reducer and pain reliever, take Tylenol. Also, if you smoke, you shouldn't smoke at least 2 weeks prior and at least 2 weeks after your surgery date. Smoking significantly reduces your body's superficial circulation
| 2. Pre-Operative Appointment Upon Arrival | During your intital face-to face consultation, our doctors will discuss your concerns, priorities and motivations for pursuing plastic surgery, as well as your fears within the scope of the medical history form that you have submitted before. After examining the patient, our doctors will be able to offer advice and options to help you achieve the appearance you desire. They will explain the advantages and disadvantages of the different options you have before you have the operation. Specifically, in this session, your digital photograph will be taken from different angles which will be assessed on a computer based program in order to find out the best proportion for your face.
| 3. Execution Of The Surgical Plan | Your operation will be scheduled for the day which is usually two or three days after the face-to-face consultation
| 4. Execution Of The Laboratory Tests | • In order to have a general anaesthesia, it is important that you have completed your blood tests including: o Complete blood count o Serum electrolytes o Renal function tests o Liver function tests
• Plain chest radiogram, Electrocardiography (ECG) or urine analysis may be necessary in some patients.
| 5. Preparations Before Surgery | Do not eat anything for eight hours before surgery. This is a common rule: if your surgery is in the morning do not eat after midnight the night before surgery. This rule applies even if you have a local anesthetic. It is a good idea to eat a nourishing diet for a week or two before surgery. Consider increasing your vitamin C intake. Do not go on a strict diet in the weeks before your operation. |
